Scope
Replace existing 3 hp ABS submersible pump in pump station. This station pumps to the wastewater treatment lagoons.
Problem
The existing pumps were plugging daily with rags and debris (even with the use of a trash basket). The Village was required to pull the pumps 4-5 times per week to remove rags/debris to keep the flow through the station.
Solution
Electric Pump and the Flygt “N” Pump (equipped with the innovative “N” impeller). The Flygt “N” Pump is specifically designed to handle the plugging issues associated with modern wastewater (swifferes, disposable diapers, etc.) Electric Pump offered a one month trial period against plugging without daily maintenance. At the end of the trial period, the customer purchased the pump including installation of the pump by Electric Pump. This was a success and the pump still has not plugged. It should be noted the run time on the Flygt “N” Pump is approximately one half of the previous pump.
